I’ve been recruiting in the New York construction industry for close to 12 years. In that time, I’ve noticed something that’s never really gone away.
When I talk to male candidates about their next move, developer roles come up naturally. When I talk to women who are just as experienced, just as capable, it seems to come up less.
I wanted to understand that gap properly. So, I interviewed women who’ve made the move to the development side. We talked about what their career looked like so far, what had changed, and what they wish they’d known. I also carried out a survey to gather even more insights.
