In 2011, I started my career as an Associate Recruiter for one of the biggest staffing agencies in the world. 10 years were spent here honing my craft – rising the ranks as a consistent top performer before becoming a Director.
I eventually realized I’d reached the limits of what I could learn. I began to feel conflicted about how I could best serve my candidates and clients whilst adhering to the company’s processes. Setting up on my own seemed like the natural place for me to go.
Today, I am The Principal of Hudson Cooper Search – a boutique, woman-owned recruitment business. The construction industry has always felt like home. I love the people I get to meet, and don’t think I could serve any other sector with as much passion.
I set up Hudson Cooper Search to provide a recruitment service built on partnerships, not transactions. Compared to major staffing agencies, I have greater freedom and flexibility to do this exceptionally well. It’s important for me to be constantly learning and improving, and to love what I do. Tenacious in my efforts to deliver results, I care deeply about providing effective solutions for my clients and candidates. Reputation is everything, so I never take mine for granted.
Your trust is something I take very seriously. When you partner with me and my business – you’ll get a service that’s process focused, hardworking, communicative, and professional.
I’ve built an extensive network of construction and real estate professionals, and I’m an active member of several industry organizations and associations – particularly those that champion women in the construction industry and leadership.
Gemma has been a wonderful extension of our company’s team. Worthwhile, high-quality candidates. I’ve never felt an interview was a waste of time.
Gemma has brought a professional and efficient touch to the projects she has managed. I have recruited several times through Gemma mainly because she listens to my requirements and is honest and clear throughout the process, producing great results.
Having worked with Gemma for over two years I have found her conscientious, customer focused approach both very effective and easy to work with. She is an effective communicator and understood our business and its needs quickly, enabling us to agree a package that focused on our priority areas with great results being achieved within a challenging time frame. As a result of that experience, we have gone back to Gemma on several occasions to help us achieve our recruitment goals and I would endorse and recommend Gemma to any prospective future clients.
Gemma is one of the hardest working people I know. She helped me land a role with a great company and made sure it be a good fit for me before recommending it as a place I should work. She constantly checks in and gives updates through the entire hiring process, so you are not left thinking how things are going. Gemma is second to none.
Gemma is an absolute professional, and a pleasure to work with. Gemma was in constant communication with me and kept me well informed throughout the job-hunting process. I would highly recommend Gemma to find you your dream job, my experience has been nothing but positive. Thank you, Gemma, for all your hard work
