The Challenge

We needed someone who could hit the ground running and be an integral part of the executive team for a family-owned General contractor that focuses on commercial and public construction projects.

In a candidate-scarce market, the challenge was finding a candidate with experience in a combination of delivery methods, particularly hard bids.

The candidate also needed to have leadership experience, and the ability to build and lead a team whilst rolling up their sleeves and bid work whilst that team is put in place.

Our Solution

Given the extremely limited local talent pool, this search had to be widened out to include multiple states. This required additional advertising and sourcing efforts to identify previously unknown candidates.

As an experienced and well-connected specialist search firm, Hudson Cooper Search had the advantage of being able to rapidly build a targeted list of potential candidates with relevant experience.

The Outcome

We identified 182 potential candidates and, using our rigorous methodology, systematically worked through the talent pool until a shortlist of six candidates was presented. Two candidates underwent a multi-interview process, and a successful hire was made.

3 months into the new role, the successful candidate hired a Junior Estimator to join his team, a search that Hudson Cooper Search also fulfilled.
